What about Acne??

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008
A friend was asking about acne the other day, so I did some research: Acne is caused by several contributing factors. Hormones are a major influence on acne. That’s why you don’t see acne before puberty. In women, birth control pills can either aggravate or improve acne. This probably depends on your response to the progestins in birth control pills. Bacteria contribute to acne - which is why either oral or topical antibiotics help. Greasy creams, perspiration, headbands and other things that can plug up pores make acne worse. Stress doesn’t help either. Surprisingly, what you eat is generally not a major contributing factor to developing acne.
I suggested my friend try Celazome’s O-Plex wash and treatment - this was developed by a dermatologist and they have had amazing results! Check out http://www.dermazone.com/dr_brown.html .
Ciao for now…

Summer at last? Time to protect….

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Well it really feels like summer is finally on it’s way, and while we should all wear sunscreen everyday of the year now it is more important than ever. And did you know that using sunscreen (especially on our face, neck, décolletage and back of our hands) is the best start to stopping the aging process.

The Celazome Moisturising Sunscreen in SPF 29 and 30 are both great products. Not only are they both moisturising, rub proof , sweat proof and last 8 hours, the SPF29 offers protection through the UVA I and II spectrum and UVB and the SPF30 offers great broad spectrum protection and is 8 hours water proof.

Visit to our US Suppliers

Hello Love your Skin visitors and members

(Apologies for any formatting or spelling mistakes - I’m learning!)

I thought my first blog might be about our trip up to the States to meet with our suppliers, it was a great insight for us to meet the people and see the premises.

Our first stop was to Los Angeles and Gingi Skincare. Here we met Dr Ginger Lai who is the president and founder of Gingi - and what a smart lady she is. She makes sure that she sources the very best of ingredients. Just as an example, the ingredients in the Anti-Pigmentation cream are natural and use no acids, so it can be used on a long term basis. Gingi’s philosophy is that all the products are designed to be unisex and even the packaging is unisex. They keep the range small so that they can concentrate on making it the best it can possibly be as well as being an easy to use range.

Ginger is also writing a book, which I think is fantastic and I can’t wait to get a copy. While we were there the entire staff at Gingi did everything they could to make us feel very welcome. Joel the VP picked us up and dropped us off and they took us to lunch at the City Club, which is housed in one of the tallest buildings in LA. The view across LA was amazing.

So all in all we thought the people at Gingi were great, they are all working to the same purpose and that is to make great skincare. I have to say that we were very reassured that the product is as good as we thought it was.

After LA we headed to Cleveland, this was to meet the Magic Tan people. Which doesn’t really have anything to do with Love Your Skin but it was interesting and again the people were great. Did you know that the VersaSpa has been voted the number 1 Spray Tan booth in the world? It really is a great tan, beautiful and natural looking so keep an eye out for Magic Tan when you’re wanting you’re next spray tan.

Anyway back to Love Your Skin: After Cleveland we headed to Orlando and a 3-day trade show. Here we met the lovely ladies of Celazome, did you know that Celazome is owned and run mainly by women? Anyway again it was a great chance to get to know the people and find out about the products from the horses mouth so to speak! Once again we were impressed and reassured that we had made the right choice. Celazome has some incredible people working for them and all the ingredients are of medical grade quality and they have some truly amazing technology with the Lyphazome nanospheres which are designed basically to deliver the lotions and creams deep in to the epidermis and then slow release for continuos and long lasting care, which means that you get maximum benefit.

Unfortunately we did not have time to get to Phoenix to meet with Healing Anthropology – next time maybe!

Please enjoy the site and please, please let me know of any questions or suggestions about the site or our products.

Ciao for now,
